The primary goal at Utopia is to reverse the unnecessary aging process of losing functional, shapely,
lean muscle and adding unwanted, excess body fat
By scientifically calibrating your nutritional program to your exercise program at Utopia,
your success is proven to work:
- You will lose maximum fat while protecting your metabolism
- You will restore youthful, functional muscle that will re-energize your body
When you moderately restrict your total calories per day, while also ensuring adequate nutrition,
your body will strive to protect itself by reducing your metabolically active lean muscle. Any
reduction in lean muscle will lower your metabolism and also influence you to become less
physically active.
Because the loss of lean muscle is typically a by-product of dieting, Utopia’s circuit strength
training is necessary to prevent that loss.
On your Utopia combined diet and exercise plan, your body will simultaneously burn additional fat
and restore (and gain) additional lean tissue. Your lasting result will be much less fat at a
faster rate and without that drop in your metabolism
With only an emphasis on aerobic exercise, you are just not going to see the results you want.
The Science
Aerobics only
Scientific research proves that aerobic activity does very little to burn fat. It’s great cardiovascular exercise BUT just don’t do your aerobics as a primary way to burn up that excess fat.
One of the largest, well-controlled studies on aerobic activity and fat burn is the HERITAGE Family Study.
In the HERITAGE Family Study 557 men and women were tracked over a 20-week aerobic exercise program. Each participant was required to do aerobics three times per week for an average of 42 minutes per exercise session. Researchers even deployed exercise technicians with computers to monitor each exercise session to further insure compliance.
Following a grand total of 60 exercise sessions over the 20-week period, the average amount of fat lost was less than two pounds, prompting scientists to admit that aerobic exercise “is not a major factor” in fat loss.
The Utopia Food & Fitness Program
Alternatively, Dr. Carol Ireton-Jones, RD (now Utopia Founder) and a team of medical researchers at UT Southwestern Medical fully tested a prototype to the Utopia program and were astonished by the results. In just 6 short weeks:
Proven, published results:
- Men: lost 27 lbs of fat, added 7.4 lbs of muscle
- Women: lost 15 lbs of fat, added 5.6 lbs of muscle
- Increase of 13% in metabolism (RMR), no participant went down
- Total Cholesterol went from 188 mg/dL to 154 with one participant dropping 63 points
These results were so impressive that the research was eventually accepted by and published within the scientific journal of The American Medical Association.
